Tell Me What You Think

c-tma-uk-hb.jpgI love hearing what people thought of my books, or reading messages that go “Wooo! It’s out!”, and even having errors pointed out (it’s usually possible to get them fixed for the reprints).

Normally it’s better if those messages go in the Guestbook, but it’s easy to miss the link to it in the sidebar over there on the right. So feel free to leave a comment here on this post. But do bear in mind that the Guestbook makes your email address available to me if I should decide to reply to you, wheras I haven’t found a way to access email addys in Movable Type.

Also please remember, do not include any spoilers in your comment. I’ve recieved some lovely comments and guestbook messages but had to delete them because they’d give away the story for others. If you want to mention something that would spoil the plot, send me a message via the fanmail address.

  1. I can’t wait for Polish translation :) I love your books.

  2. Hi! I’ve just finished reading ‘The magician’s apprentice’. As with your previous books I was almost not able to put it down so I could get my sleep before work.
I liked that you by Stara gave insight in the Sakachan community. But what I really was fascinated by was your ability to make Kyralia so alien and yet so recognisable. Though there was some things that had an obvious end as this is a prequel it only made me look forward to more.
Your books has among others been an inspiration to my own writing. Nothing more said of that at your explisit request.
Thank your for showing that the worlds of magic can be so very different.
Greetings from a devoted reader from Norway.

  3. Hey hey,
Since the first day of February I am waiting for the new Trudy Canavan book in Germany but the thing is that the publisher has some issues with giving it away.
But I went to my favourite little fantasy-bookstore and they will call me as soon as the first copy arrives. I can’t wait to hold it in my hands.
I once tried to read the German translation….didn’t work out, I have to read the original, it’s just to good to get ruined by translations and for me it’s very helpful to work on my English as well. I love your style Trudy :) It’s great really.

  4. woo ! its out ! :)
cant wait; my mum wont let me buy it yet though cuz we are travellling… i will figure a way to make more room in my suitcase for your book, your books are the best !

  5. I enjoyed being back in Kyralia a lot, liked finding out the differences in learning and practising magic between this book and the Black Magician Trilogy and seeing knowledge getting discovered that in the latter books is taken for granted.
A nice and enjoyable journey through Kyralia and Sachaka – not as breathtakingly exciting as the trilogy but besides work I didn’t put it down much either ;)

  6. I signed the guest book but I just have to say again The Magician’s Apprentice is Fantabulous!! Well Done!!!

  7. It’s sitting there next to my bed, waiting for me to finish my sixth Trudi book in a straight run. What will I do after I read that?
Is there indeed life after Trudi? :-)

  8. Brilliant, really enjoyed it. I think it took the best aspects of your writing from the two previous trilogies and brought them together nicely. Brilliant work, hope you get a well deserved holiday from writing, hopefully not too long though ;)
Anyway, great book. Thanks for all the effort and imagination you clearly put into your books!

  9. i read the latest addition to my bookshelf in an evening.
i sat and just read and read.
i loved the contrast and comparisions that made it so believable as a prequel but also a complete new story in its own right.
thankyou for brightening up my dayy! :-)

  10. First off I would just like to say – THANK YOU!
This is a fantastic introduction to the Black Magician Trilogy and what a read! I just couldn’t put it down, even at work I managed to read it during my lunch break!! Amazing characters, amazing plot and such fantastic attention to detail. I really enjoyed this and am sure to start the BM Trilogy again – for the third time!!
Once again, thank you so much and look forward to reading more from you (hopefully) very soon!!!

  11. I love the new book. I listened to the audio versions from itunes as I had a voucher, but no hard cash (go figure). However I will be buying the hardback copy ASAP. I love the way it reads so effortlessly, it flows and has helped me write a piece of coursework (for which I was Graded A*). You have given me many hours of studious fun. Thank you. I’m now re-reading ‘The Black Magician’ trilogy in preparation for the ‘The Ambassador’s Mission’, I’m gutted that it is only in the proverbial pipeline. Thanks again. Jake in UK

  12. Hi,
I am just in the middle of TMA and i love it! I just thought that I would say that I cannot find the definition of “ley” in the glossary, it is pretty easy to guess what it means but I just wanted to tell you in case it had not been omitted on purpose.
other than that it is great ans i cant wait to read more!
