Trudi Canavan

bestselling author of The Black Magician Trilogy

Welcome to My New Website!

Haven’t the Orbit and the designer, Clockpunk Studios, done a brilliant job? I love it!

They’ve been working on it for the last month or so. I’ve also got stuck in and edited, updated or rewritten all of the old text. (Some of it was very old indeed – my entry on Neil Gaiman in the Recommended Reading pages only mentioned Sandman!)

So… what’s new?

* I’ve added a new ‘10 Non-fiction Favourites‘ page to the Recommended Reading section.
* There’s a new ‘Report a Typo‘ page under ‘Contact’ where you can tell me of any errors you find in the books – and check if anyone has noted them before.
* There’s a ‘Short Stories & Novellas‘ page where you can find out what I’ve had published and in which magazines or anthologies.
* In ‘Future Worlds’ there is a description of the next series I’m going to write.

I hope you find the new site easy to navigate and enjoy the new features. Let me know what you think in the comments.

  1. Dear trudi, I have only recently started to read your books and may I say that they are great. Excellent story lines and a great in depth feeling of being there, the next one to read is Priestess of the White.

Many thanks for the great books

  2. Hi Trudi,
I’m a student from South Africa and I thought I’d let you know I love your writing about heroines seeing as all the famous fantasy stories seem to have males as the main character like Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings.
I’m so happy to find out that you’re continuing the story about Sonea and I am yet to read The Ambassador’s Mission.

  3. Hi Trudi – I’ve arrived at your site to see if there’s any news with your book coming out in a few days only to find myself out of luck on getting hold of a signed copy of the new book. Ah well can’t always be lucky – I don’t mind too much as I’ve had a copy on order from Amazon since…oh… October last year I think? Either way it’s in the post now I and I cannot wait to get my hands on it. Thanks for the preview on your books page for it. Poor Ceryni and poor Faren – I was hoping he’d still be around!

Either way I love the new website and I cannot wait to get a hold of your new book (Seriously I own all your books in hardback and have read The Black Magician Trilogy several times)

All the best to you, Natasha x

  4. I love the magic simbols on blue on the logo at the top.
This was the first thing I noticed now while browsing from my G1 cellphone in bed.
The font of your name is cool too.

I found you site now because I could not remember what the title of the second book of “Age of the five” was and knew that I would not be able to sleep before I found out 🙂
Aaah “Last of the wilds” of coarse!

  5. Hi (again) 🙂
I’ve just looked at the ‘Covers and Illustrations Maps and Sketches’, your paintings looked extrodinary! Amazing! I like drawing and sketching too (best in class, maybe year 6), although, mine are just amatuer next to yours! 😉 Love the books! Love the web!

  6. Love the Website. Flawless layout. Nice dark colours that aren’t harsh on the eyes, particularly if they’re sensitive (like mine) :L. It is amazing. I can’t say any more other than it is brilliant on toast (that’s little saying around where I live, which just means it’s not only brilliant, but more than brilliant – just reassuring you that it’s not meant to be offensive 🙂 )

  7. I just finished The Magicians’ Guild, thoroughly enjoying all of it! What perfect timing that your shiny new website went up on the very same day I went looking for it. I’m excited to finish this trilogy and read more of your work. Lovely website, too!

  8. The new website looks amazing: I love the new look, the new and more detailed info, the embedded tweets, everything – great job 🙂

Do you know if you’ll do book signings for “The Ambassador’s Mission”? I’ll be on vacation in Australia this May and I’m keeping my fingers crossed that there might be a chance for me not only to buy the book in your home country but also to get it signed… ^_^

    Love from Vienna,
Sonja (sonjakatharina from livejournal in your old blog)

  9. Fabulous, shiny new website. I love the purple and the header it’s really lovely.

I also emailed you a while ago asking if you’d be willing to write a few words for my blog, I didn’t hear back and assumed you were just busy.

  10. Your new website is very nice. Very polished and I love the colours used. By the way, I have added your recommended reading list to my “Books To Read” list…the never-ending list. All the best with your writing. I look forward to reading your next book, due out on 6 May 2010 if I remember correctly.

  11. New website looks amazing. Easy to navigate, well designed. Very good. And just had a read of the future worlds page. The Milleniums Rule series sounds awesome and the horror short sounds pretty cool too. Cant wait for the Traitor spy trilogy as well. Congratulations on repeatedly writing fantastic books. 😀

  12. Oooh its preeeetty!

I just read your ‘about my writing’ bit and I found it quite inspiring! I haven’t done much writing recently due to being at the very end of my degree but you’ve made me rather excited about starting again!

Can’t wait for the new book!

  13. Looks awesome 🙂

I know this probably isn’t the place to ask… but I work for the site Shades of Sentience, and we were hoping to interview you sometime. How would we best go about this? I sent a message over the Contact page some months ago and didn’t get a reply – though I know everyone is quite busy!

Can’t wait until the book comes out 🙂

    • Hi Katharine. Thanks for being the first commenter on my shiny new website. I don’t have any emails from you, so it looks like it didn’t get to me or was eaten by the spam filter.
