Wax On; Wax Off

I’m busy polishing Thief’s Magic, making that book shine and sparkle, so I may be a bit quiet here for a while. I’ll be Tweeting my progress, though, along with the usual Twitter silliness.

In the Mailbox: Italian The Traitor Queen

The postman brought this one to my door last week: Italian readers can now find out what happens a the end of the Traitor Spy Trilogy, with the release of The Traitor Queen. Enjoy!

In the Mailbox: Brazilian & Spanish Editions

A couple of foreign editions have arrived in the post lately: A Brazillian The High Lord… … and a Spanish The Traitor Queen. Both the final book in their respective trilogies. I hope my Brazillian and Spanish readers enjoy them! (And a little bird on Twitter tells me that La Regina Dei Maghi, the Italian [...]

Book Reading Order

“Which order should I read your books in?” is a question I’m often asked. Though I’ve answered it here before, I’m posting again for new readers. To someone wanting to try my work it’s not obvious where to begin. I’ve tried to write most of my books so that if there are only a few [...]

Summer

Things are quiet here at the moment. I’m working away on Thief’s Magic whenever the weather isn’t stupidly hot, and my New Year resolution to read more traditional fantasy (after a couple of years of sampling around the edges – steampunk, urban fantasy, fantasy knit lit).

Ebook Availability Update – Good News!

For the last year or so I’ve been checking to see which of my books were available as ebooks in the Australasian region. A few months ago I got in contact with the lovely people at HarperCollins to see if anything could be done to get the missing ones to show up. Well, after some [...]

Guest Post at Orbit

When my publisher suggested I send them a guest post for the Orbit blog, I had no idea what to write about. I couldn’t think of a subject that I hadn’t already covered in this blog, or in subject specific interviews on other people’s blogs. Also, I felt the guest post should relate in some [...]

My books range from 120,000 words to 200,000 (rounded down to the nearest 5K). When I think about how much rewriting is involved [...]

The Traitor Queen at No 1!

So apparently it has debut at no 1 on the Sunday Times Bestseller List. There were some very excited tweets, emails and calls last week, and some sparkling wine to celebrate. I’m wondering if I should buy a subscription to a newspaper I’m not otherwise going to read (since I don’t live in the UK [...]

Cover of The Traitor Queen

The release date of The Traitor Queen (in August) is slowly and steadily drawing near. I now have a cover to show off: Fabulous, as always. I think this is my favourite cover for this trilogy now. Orbit posted a Cover Reveal last week, with more information, and you can go to the
