The idea behind my first set of nudes was to treat the figure as a part
of landscape. This painting is the most literal in that sense. The stars in the
sky give it a sense of scale. Making the figure red brought to mind Olaru, and
gave my teacher the idea for the title.
(Anyone who knows me well knows I love a good pun.)
