Hermitising

| | Comments (7)

Today I'm starting a three week writing stint, in which I hope to finish the first draft of The Ambassador's Mission. It's going to be quite a challenge to get it done in that time, so I'm doing what I call 'hermitising'. This means only family, friends and maintaining my physical (and mental) health are allowed to draw me away from writing. No publicity, no lunches with publishers or agents, no unnecessary blogging.

So things may get a bit quiet around here. But I am considering posting small updates on my progress. It might be fun to share a little of the craziness of writing under pressure, and make me feel a little less like a hermit.

Good luck with getting the first draft finished the way you plan to!

I think you're fans can live through a few weeks of silence on your blog, when they know that this is the reason why.
I think there are even people who would act as your personal bodyguard to keep any kind of distractions from you (me included).
We believe in you and hope that you will be happy with the results.
Good luck!

Aww thanks!

Can't help but agree! Good luck with writing and please don't stress yourself too much! Good luck again and enjoy yourself!!!

Yiipiiee, there will be a sequel-series! When I clicked on the link for the traitor-spy-trilogy and read, it was not even written yet, I hoped this would be old news. Yet your blog entry is only a few days old....
There are so many little things that left me puzzled at the end of "The High Lord", so I hoped for a chance to find out more.

Good luck :) I hope that everything will go according to your plan, so we'll faster be able to read new book :D

Great news! I really can't wait for the sequel of the Black Magician Trilogy ... In my opinion, your fantasy books are amongst the best ever written!
I imagine that you can't give away any "secrets" about the new trilogy, therefore I guess I'll just have to wait, but I'd really like to know if the new books will reveal who had Akkarin's fourth blood gem or who was the candidate for the position of High Lord to whom Akkarin alludes when talking about his own election as High Lord ...
Anyway, all my best for your writing stint!
