Trudi Canavan

bestselling author of The Black Magician Trilogy

I’ve just joined Twitter after snooping around and looking at how other authors have been using it. Seems like a good replacement for the newsletter I once had, but which we never got working properly. But I don’t want my tweets to be all dry promo stuff. I’d die of boredom if I had to be serious all the time. As for what the non-serious stuff will be… I’ll just have to see what happens.

My username is TrudiCanavan.

  1. OMG Trudi my sister is crazy about you!
i threaten to burn her books but she’d kill me if i did 😀
she absolutly loves you and i barely no you 😉
    yerooooo! 😀

  2. Sorry, webfaery, I don’t want the blog content, which is mostly information on books, reporting on publicity, etc., cluttered up with tweets, which are chatty, include responses to other tweets, and often not related to my books and writing.
But you don’t have to sign up to Twitter to read the tweets, and I’m pretty sure you can subscribe to my Twitter RSS feed if you don’t want to read them in Twitter.

  3. Now if you could import your twitter feed as posts to your blog, those of us who don’t tweet could be kept up-to-date with your comings and goings, voyeurs that we are.

  4. Glad to have been able to help 🙂

  5. Thanks sonjakatharina, the link worked 😉

  6. Thanks for the suggestions, webfaery and sonjakatharina. And thanks for the compliment on the photo, webfaery. My partner, Paul, took the photo. Photography is one of his hobbies. I’ll pass the compliment on.

  7. I had no troubles finding you – perhaps a link might help?
I joined twitter yesterday – and today I saw this blog entry – made me laugh 😉

  8. PS Trudi, that profile pic on twitter really is a nice photo of you. The color of the top you’re wearing really suits you.

  9. I have a twitter account but I never use it – I’m more of a facebook follower myself. Out of curiosity I logged into twitter and entered TrudiCanavan in the search field. Found you immediately. All I can suggest is that people having problems copy and paste your username. anjasi are you using the correct case? Be sure to use the upper case T and C and no space between first and last name.

  10. I have no idea what to recommend. Anyone got suggestions for how anjasi can find me in Twitter?

  11. Same with me. Twitter seems not to know you 🙁

  12. ovacio – who knows? I guess there’s potential.
Katy – a few of my friends had the same problem, but they kept trying and eventually found me. I think Twitter might be a bit buggy that way.

  13. Anybody else having problems adding you? I’ve tried, but it didn’t find anyone with the username ‘TrudiCanavan’.

  14. Can we use Twitter for educational activities?
